The world's most talented horses and cowboys take center stage July 3-8, 2012, in Oklahoma City, to battle it out for top honors at the third annual Battle in the Saddle competition. Competitors from around the world will shoot it out in fast-paced, exciting events that include barrel racing, cowboy mounted shooting, cutting, ranch pleasure, ranch remuda challenge, ranch sorting, roping, versatility ranch horse competition and working cow horse. Battle in the Saddle is owned by Oklahoma State Fair and managed by the American Quarter Horse Association. All breeds are welcome to compete, but American Quarter Horses competing will receive AQHA points.
This year’s Battle in the Saddle will feature more than $144,000 in added money and more than $300,000 estimated in purses.
